A striking mid-century organic-form coffee table, in the manner of Carl Auböck, dating from circa 1950s/60s.
The table features a beautifully sculptural freeform solid wood slab top with a natural live edge and attractive figuring throughout. Its flowing, irregular shape is supported by three angled tubular brass legs, retaining their original aged patina, and finished with black rubber feet.
The design closely echoes the celebrated Austrian tree-trunk tripod tables associated with Carl Auböck, combining natural organic form with elegant mid-century metalwork. The piece is unmarked and is therefore offered as in the manner of rather than attributed to the designer.
Presented in very good vintage condition, with natural surface character, minor age-related wear and fissures consistent with the original timber and its age. The table is sturdy, highly decorative and ready for use.
A particularly attractive sculptural occasional table, ideal as a low coffee table, side table or statement piece within a mid-century or contemporary interior.
